BIG TIDY UP

KS2 children worked hard to tidy in and around the school. Everywhere is looking cleaner, fresher and much tidier! Thanks everyone!

During the summer break we are having work done to re-paint the playground markings and to replace the surface around the adventure playground. The new TYRE PARK is being well used and provides lots of balance and co-ordination activities.

OFSTED INSPECTION

We were visited by two Ofsted inspectors on Thursday 25th June. We hope they were able to see all the wonderful things we do at our school and will include them in their report. The inspectors worked with staff and talked with the children. We will let you know how they rated the school when the report is published.

RECYCLING WEEK 22nd - 26th June

We will be looking at ways to recycle materials in school - paper, card, aluminium, plastic, printer cartridges and compostable waste.

The Eco-Council will be encouraging the children to make a pledge to recycle more at home.

There will be an assembly on recycling on Thursday 25th June.

SILVER ARTSMARK AWARD

We are delighted to have achieved our ARTSMARK award at SILVER level. A lot of work went into the application so, a big thankyou to Mrs Card our Art Co-ordinator for undertaking this. It is a great achievement for such a small school and shows that we have a wonderful variety of creative arts activities for our pupils.

SNOW...SNOW...SNOW

A week of snow has kept the school closed for three days this week. I apologise for the inconvenience of early morning phonecalls and the need for you to organise childcare but I do not feel that it is worth risking staff and parents travelling on treacherous, untreated roads to get to school. Staff have kept busy catching up with paperwork and lesson planning and i hope that children have enjoyed the opportunity to play in the snow.
